Music to lift your Spirit

Music is one one of the most important ways to worship and praise God. The songs themselves lift our spirits and praise the Lord but when you know a little about why the song was written it begins to show a testimony of the writer. The Lord opened a wonderful door for Abundant Life and for a sister who attends First Pentecostal Church (UPCI) in California pastored by Brother Gaylen Cantrell. As most know, music is copyrighted and getting permission to use it is a very tenuious process. Sister Pam Brown (no relation to the webmaster) shared a couple songs with me and they were a huge blessing to me, brother John Brown, and I aksed if I could share them with Abundant Life Apostolic Church and she was happy to share them and the story behind both songs. Both songs were written by Sister Brown and sung by another member of their church, Sister Sonia Farmah, and they both were recorded by brother Cantrell's (their pastor) studio. In the song, Come Follow Me, Brother Bill Parkey, the asst Pastor of Abundant Life Center (UPCI) in Tulare, CA accompanied Sister Farmah. I KNOW both will be blessings to our church and all those who visit our online church home!

The first song is titled Come follow Him

Sister Pam Brown wrote this inspired by her grandmother who never stopped witnessing to her and others about Jesus Once Sister brown was in church she encouraged her and others never to stop following Jesus no matter what came and what valleys one had to go through. Sister Garber mentioned today that we follow Jesus out of love and its not work but a desire and listening to this song really brought that statement home. Follow Jesus no matter what chuch...His yoke is easy and it truly is a Love affair and there is no life without Him. We are examples of God's Love to the world and there is not one of us who could say life is no different since Jesus became Lord. God should be the first thing that enters your mind in the morning and the last thing you think about when drifting off to sleep!

The Next Song is titled Can't Stop Praising

Sister Pam Brown shared the story behind this song. She dreamed she  was outside one day and she was going through alot. A voice came to her and starting naming off bad things that were supoosed to happen to her.like the voice was trying to upset her and to each bad thing she replied back I do not care I'm gonna keep on praising God and it reminded me of Job. Imagine if we resonded to everything the devil tried to do or say to us with this answer. No matter what life and the devil throws at us we SHOULD ALWAYS take this road. The Lord is our refuge and we should have His praise continually in our mouthes at all times! At one time or another, we all fall but the key is to get back up, praise the Lord, and move forward once again. When we see a brother or sister fall, we need to help them get back up and moving forward and help them hold on to Jesus. We are all a part of the body of Christ and when one of us falls..we should come running to get them up because it does effect us as a whole.

Sister Pam Brown and her daughter Jaci

This music touched one soul from Abundant Life Apostolic Church and The Lord made a way for these songs to be shared. Thank you Sister Pam Brown for allowing us to share them and I pray they are just as much a blessing to everyone who listens to them here!
